EMS high-performance long fiberglass reinforced polyamide replaces metal for truck cabin steps
High-performance fiberglass reinforced polyamides such as Grivory HT and Grivory GV made by EMS-GRIVORY replace metal in many applications, enabling customers to achieve cost and weight reductions. It is currently also used to manufacture cabin steps for trucks.
By reducing the weight of vehicles with lighter components, truck manufacturers can better utilize the maximum load weight of the vehicle and increase freight volume. In addition, lighter vehicles will also produce less exhaust gas and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
At the same time, because polymers can be injected through an extremely economical and energy-saving process without any additional machining and other post-processing and coating rust prevention, plastic parts can save 30% to 50% of the cost of metal parts, depending on the complexity of different components, and in some cases even more.
Grivory GVL is a high-performance polyamide material reinforced with long fiberglass. It not only provides the mechanical properties and long service life required by the original metal steps, but also has a color appearance that is almost the same as the original painted aluminum die-cast parts. The targeted UV resistance modification also solves the color change caused by long-term exposure of plastic parts.
At present, this material has passed the 125,000 150kg load cycle test required by customers, as well as the 225kg load test at temperatures from -40°C to 80°C, and its performance is stable and guaranteed.
