(1) Fiberglass felt cloth products for electronics
In 2024, the total output of fiberglass electronic yarn in my country will be 809,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.7%. The apparent consumption of fiberglass felt cloth products for electronics in China will be about 743,000 tons, and the overall market performance will be relatively stable. According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, in 2024, the output of microcomputer equipment in my country will increase by 2.7% year-on-year, the output of mobile communication handsets will increase by 7.8% year-on-year, and the output of household appliances and audio-visual equipment will increase by 12.3% year-on-year. Driven by the old-for-new policy, the electronic consumer market such as computers, mobile phones, and home appliances will gradually pick up, driving the steady growth of market demand. At the same time, with the popularization of new-generation intelligent technologies and equipment such as AI, 5G, new energy vehicles, and autonomous driving, especially technological innovation in high-end application fields such as high thermal conductivity and thinness, it is gradually promoting the orderly regulation of production capacity of electronic glass fiber and products and the continuous optimization of product structure.
(2) Industrial glass fiber felt products
In 2024, the total output of fiberglass industrial yarn in my country was 667,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 10.3%. The apparent consumption of domestic industrial glass fiber felt products was about 421,000 tons. The performance of each market segment was very different. The market demand for glass fiber felt products in the construction and infrastructure fields continued to be sluggish. According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, the total investment in real estate development from January to December 2024 decreased by 10.6% year-on-year, of which the total investment in residential products decreased by 10.5% year-on-year. The market for fiberglass mesh cloth for building insulation declined significantly, and many companies were in a state of suspension or semi-suspension. At the same time, affected by the Hawaii wildfire and other foreign events, the export demand for fiberglass felt products for safety protection has grown rapidly. At the same time, the domestic market is also gradually heating up. Various new emergency fire-fighting products for production and life, such as fire control blankets for new energy vehicles and isolation blankets for hazardous chemicals storage, are gradually entering the market.
(3) Fiberglass felt products and glass fiber reinforced plastic products for reinforcement
In 2024, the total output of ordinary thermosetting direct yarn, plied yarn, high modulus yarn and thermoplastic yarn of fiberglass in my country will reach 2.785 million tons, 746,000 tons, 870,000 tons and 1.684 million tons respectively. The apparent consumption of fiberglass yarn for thermosetting reinforcement in China will be about 3.098 million tons, and the apparent consumption of fiberglass yarn for thermoplastic reinforcement will be about 1.379 million tons.
In 2024, the total output of fiberglass reinforced plastic products in my country will be about 7.5 million tons, an increase of 11.6% year-on-year. Among them: the total output of fiberglass reinforced thermosetting plastic products will be about 3.64 million tons, an increase of 13.0% year-on-year; the total output of fiberglass reinforced thermoplastic plastic products will be about 3.86 million tons, an increase of 10.3% year-on-year. According to the data of the Wind Energy Professional Committee of the China Renewable Energy Society, the new installed capacity of wind power in China will be about 87GW in 2024, an increase of 9.6%. According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, the national automobile production in 2024 will be 31.56 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 4.8%, of which new energy vehicles will be 13.168 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 38.7%. Driven by the steady growth of demand in major markets such as wind power, automobiles, and home appliances, the output of various types of glass fiber reinforced plastic products continues to grow rapidly. At the same time, in recent years, with the shaping of new momentum and new advantages in the inorganic continuous fiber industry and the cultivation of new applications and new tracks, new markets such as photovoltaics, energy storage, low-altitude economy and smart logistics, marine development, and green building materials have continued to grow, providing new growth space for the subsequent development of the industry.
