CCTV Special Report On The Selling Streak Of Fiberglass

On the evening of March 20th, CCTV-2's "Economic Information Broadcast" dedicated nearly 10 minutes to a key report on the latest developments in my country's glass fiber and products industry, instantly drawing attention from the entire industry and all sectors of the supply chain. The reporter visited manufacturers of wind turbine blades, new energy vehicle components, and glass fiber electronic cloth for circuit boards to gain a comprehensive understanding of the upgrading demand and expansion of glass fiber in major application markets. The reporter also engaged in in-depth discussions with representatives from Jushi Group, Henan Guangyuan, and the China Glass Fiber Industry Association regarding the industry's recent practices in technological innovation, capacity structure optimization, and new market expansion. Together, they analyzed and explored the path to high-quality development in the glass fiber and products industry in recent years, behind the "tight glass fiber" market.

On February 28, 2026, the China Glass Fiber Industry Association released the "2025 Annual Development Report of China's Glass Fiber and Products Industry." Facing the continued complexity and volatility of the global political and economic situation, the glass fiber and products industry has relied heavily on the domestic market, continuously carrying out technological innovation and product structure optimization. Driven by the continued recovery of major markets such as wind power, electronics, and new energy vehicles, and the steady growth of emerging markets such as photovoltaic new energy, safety protection, and green building, the market supply and demand situation has continued to improve. According to the association's statistics, my country's total glass fiber yarn output reached 8.43 million tons in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 11.5%. The entire industry achieved a year-on-year increase of 11.0% in main business revenue and a year-on-year increase of 78.4% in total profit.

On March 10th, a CCTV reporting team visited the China Glass Fiber Industry Association. Liu Changlei, the association's secretary-general, gave the reporting team a detailed introduction to the development of the glass fiber and related products industry in recent years. As an energy and resource-dependent industry, the glass fiber and related products industry has gradually shifted its development strategy in recent years, establishing a new development goal of "suitable for industry, high-quality products, and benefiting mankind," and actively exploring how to shift from "following and keeping pace" to "leading" the global glass fiber industry. The entire industry is increasingly focusing on relying on technological innovation to empower the industry's green, intelligent, and high-end development, and is increasingly emphasizing applied research and market supply and demand matching. On the one hand, the industry closely follows the changing demands of five traditional sub-markets: building materials, automobiles, electronics, wind power, and chemical environmental protection. This includes the current AI market, new energy vehicle market, and offshore wind power market, all driven by technological iteration and high-quality development in these key traditional sub-markets. On the other hand, the industry actively explores new development opportunities by meeting people's livelihood needs and driving domestic demand growth, cultivating new areas and tracks for industry development. In recent years, the association has actively sought policy and resource support from various sectors, launching and promoting the cultivation of six new tracks: photovoltaic new energy, safety protection, marine development, smart logistics, green building, and low-altitude economy. The cultivation of some tracks is progressing well, with market demand steadily increasing.

Looking to the future, the entire industry will continue to actively implement the new development goal of "suitable for industry, high-quality products, and benefiting mankind," focusing on the changing demands brought about by technological iteration and high-quality development. It will explore its potential to empower people's aspirations for a better life and high-quality economic and social development through materials, actively engage in technological innovation, continuously shape new drivers and advantages for development, open up new areas and spaces for development, and achieve the transformation of glass fiber from a "niche fiber material" to an "industrial steel reinforcement substrate"!
