What are the applications of the development of the fiberglass industry?

Fiberglass  is an inorganic non-metallic material with excellent performance, with a wide variety, the advantages are good insulation, strong heat resistance, good corrosion resistance, high mechanical strength, but the disadvantage is brittleness and poor wear resistance. It is made of pyrophyllite, quartz sand, limestone, dolomite, boronite, brucite six kinds of ores as raw materials by high temperature melting, wire drawing, winding, weaving and other processes, the diameter of its monofilament is a few microns to more than two dozen microns, equivalent to 1/20-1/5 of a hair, each bundle of fiber precursor is composed of hundreds or even thousands of monofilament. Glass fiber is commonly used as a reinforcing material in composite materials, electrical insulation materials and thermal insulation materials, circuit substrates and other fields of the national economy.
From the perspective of the industrial chain, China has formed a complete industrial chain of fiberglass (raw yarn), glass fiber products and glass fiber composite materials. The upstream provides the necessary raw materials for glass fiber production, involving ore mining, energy, chemical and other industries. fiberglass production is located in the middle of the industrial chain, through the use of upstream raw materials, with unique processes, the production of glass fiber yarn, glass fiber textile, non-woven products, etc., these products are further processed to become terminal composite products. Downstream application areas involve building materials, transportation, electronic and electrical and new energy industries.
In the automotive industry, fiberglass materials are inseparable from automotive front and rear bumpers, fenders, engine covers, truck roofs/car dashboards, seats, cockpits, trim/automotive electronic and electrical components, etc. In recent years, China's economy has continued to develop, the per capita disposable income has steadily increased and purchasing power has been increasing, and the proportion of consumer expenditure in improving the quality of life has been increasing, providing a solid foundation for the development of China's automotive industry. According to statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China's automobile production and sales from 2012 to 2021 showed a synchronous upward trend. Among them, automobile production peaked at 29.02 million units in 2017, and by 2021, the national automobile production will be 26.53 million units, a year-on-year increase of 4.78%, compared with the annual production of vehicles in 2012 increased by 7.25 million units. National vehicle sales also peaked at 28.88 million units in 2017, and by 2021, the national automobile sales volume will be 26.27 million units, a year-on-year increase of 3.79%, and an increase of 6.96 million units compared with 2012. In 2022, China's automobile production and sales will reach 27.021 million units and 26.864 million units, respectively, continuing the growth trend in 2021. The stable development of the automotive industry provides a broad development space and good development prospects for the fiberglass industry.
