Which phenomena reflected in the further processing of fiberglass raw yarn are related to the performance of the wetting agent?
(1) Migration of the sizing agent. During the drying process of the raw silk, part of the sizing agent is carried by water and migrated to the surface layer. The oil content of the fiberglass inside and outside the raw silk tube is inconsistent, and the raw silk is difficult to decompose, which affects the product quality. The improvement of the migration phenomenon requires the emulsion to maintain a certain particle size so that the water cannot carry it. In particular, when preparing the film-forming agent emulsion, it is necessary to control the degree of binding between the emulsifier and the water molecules on the surface of the emulsion particles and the amount of hydrogen bonds formed between the two. If the binding is too poor, the particles have poor hydrophilicity and the emulsion is unstable; if the binding is too stable, the water molecules will carry the emulsion particles out through hydrogen bonding during the evaporation and migration process.
(2) Fuzzing. During the debonding process, the fiberglass filaments break and form fuzz. The reasons for fuzzing are: on the one hand, the lubricity of the impregnating agent film is not enough and the friction coefficient is too large; on the other hand, the original filaments are not well bundled. This is related to the LOI value of the impregnating agent, the type of film-forming agent, the molecular weight of the film-forming agent and the surface tension of the film-forming agent. If the molecular weight is too large or too small, or the surface tension is too large, fuzzing is easy to occur. This is also related to the type and amount of the lubricating component in the impregnating agent.
(3) Performance of raw silk cake. The deformation of raw silk cake and the sticking phenomenon between layers during the drying process will have an adverse effect on the subsequent processing of fiberglass. If the raw silk cake is too soft and deformed, the yarn is easy to unwind during unwinding; if the raw silk cake is too hard or the interlayers are seriously sticky, the glass fiber bundle is easy to be damaged and the hair is serious during unwinding. Therefore, it is necessary to adjust the amount of each component in the sizing agent to make the raw silk cake moderately soft and hard.
