Why are fiberglass composites better suited for the marine environment?

Fiberglass composites are a great choice for offshore applications because fiberglass composites can be installed quickly, reduce or avoid service downtime altogether, provide structural reinforcement and corrosion protection, and can be mounted on challenging pipe geometries such as bends, reducers and flanges. Fiberglass composites are also lighter than traditional repair methods (i.e. steel casings), which is an ideal repair method for offshore structures.
