Installation Guide
How to Apply Fiberglass Mesh in Plaster & Concrete Reinforcement
1. Surface Preparation
Ensure the substrate is solid, clean, and free from dust, grease, and old coatings.
Fill surface irregularities larger than 20 mm with plaster.
Highly absorbent surfaces should be primed before plastering.
2. Application of Base Plaster
Apply a uniform layer of plaster or adhesive mortar using a notched trowel over the prepared surface.
3. Installation of Fiberglass Mesh
Place the fiberglass mesh onto the wet plaster in vertical strips, ensuring an overlap of at least 100 mm between adjacent sheets.
Press the mesh into the plaster using a trowel or spatula.
Recommended reinforcement layer thickness: ≥ 3 mm.
4. Installation of Corner Reinforcements
Install corner beads or angle elements, pressing the mesh firmly into the plaster to reinforce edges and corners.
5. Final Plaster Layer
After the reinforced layer has completely dried, apply the final finishing coat of plaster.
6. Reinforcement of Window & Door Openings
Reinforce window and door openings with additional mesh strips (300 mm width) before applying the first reinforcing layer to prevent cracking.
