Introduction And Applications Of Fiberglass Membrane
Fiberglass Veil/Mat Product Introduction
Fiberglass veil/mat is a nonwoven material made from fiberglass using wet or dry processes. It is lightweight, high-temperature resistant, corrosion-resistant, and has excellent insulation properties, making it widely used in composite material reinforcement, filtration, and thermal insulation.
Product Features
Lightweight and High-Strength: Low density but high mechanical strength, enhancing the performance of composite materials.
High-Temperature Resistance: Long-term operating temperature up to 500~600℃, short-term withstands even higher temperatures.
Corrosion Resistance: Good resistance to acids, alkalis, salts, and other chemical media.
Good Insulation: Excellent electrical insulation properties, suitable for the electronics and electrical industries.
Dimensional Stability: Low coefficient of thermal expansion, not easily deformed.
Adjustable Performance: Thickness, fiber length, adhesive type, etc., can be adjusted according to requirements.
Application Process
Hand Lay-up Molding: The glass fiber veil is laid on a mold, coated with resin, and then cured. Suitable for ship hulls, storage tanks, etc. Compression molding: After mixing with resin, the mixture is placed in a mold, heated, and pressurized to form the final product. Used for automotive parts, electrical appliance housings, etc.
Vacuum infusion/RTM (Resin Transfer Molding): Used to manufacture high-performance composite materials, such as wind turbine blades and automotive structural components.
Lamination process: Composite with carbon fiber, aramid fiber, etc., to create multi-layer high-performance sheets.
Coating process: Used to manufacture waterproof membranes, anti-corrosion linings, etc.
