Properties And Applications Of Fiberglass Needle-Punched Felt

Fiberglass needle-punched felt is a structurally sound and high-performance filter and thermal insulation material. Made from fiberglass, it is produced by needle-punching combed short-cut fiberglass felt, mechanically entangled between the fiberglass layers and between the fiberglass layers and the reinforcing fiberglass base fabric, thus reinforcing the fiber web and creating a felt-like nonwoven filter material.

Fiberglass needle-punched felt not only possesses the advantages of fiberglass fabrics such as high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, dimensional stability, minimal elongation and shrinkage, and high strength, but also features single-fiber, three-dimensional microporous structures with high porosity, resulting in low resistance to gas filtration. It is a high-speed, high-efficiency high-temperature filter material. Compared to other high-temperature resistant synthetic fiber felts, it has unique advantages such as lower price and higher temperature resistance, but its operating resistance is higher than that of general synthetic fiber high-temperature filter media.

Advantages: 1. Excellent thermal insulation: Based on physical principles, gases have low thermal conductivity, and excellent thermal insulation materials contain many air pockets. Fiberglass needle-punched wool contains countless tiny air pockets, and the fibers are irregularly arranged, making it an excellent thermal insulation material.

2. Non-combustible: The main component of fiberglass is silicates (accounting for more than 50%), which are non-combustible, non-deformable, and do not become brittle below 700℃.

3. Good sound absorption: When sound waves penetrate fiberglass wool, their energy is significantly reduced due to collisions with the different sized gaps in the fibers.

4. High insulation: Fiberglass can withstand high temperatures, has good mechanical properties, and high chemical stability, making it an optimal insulation material.

5. High corrosion resistance: Fiberglass is not afraid of strong acids and alkalis, and its functional properties will not decrease over time.

6. Good resilience: Fiberglass contains countless fixed air pockets, resulting in excellent resilience. It is not afraid of any impact or vibration, and its tensile strength is above 1.0 kg.

7. Low moisture absorption: The moisture absorption rate is usually close to zero.

8. Lightweight and Flexible: Compared to other insulation materials, fiberglass needle-punched felt is the lightest and most flexible. When installed on machinery, it can reduce its weight and vibration load.

9. Easy Installation: Sizes can be cut to order.
