Woven Roving is abbreviated as WR, which means untwisted coarse yarn cloth, also called gingham cloth. It is currently used in a large amount of fiberglass fishing boats in China, but it is not the best choice.

fiberglass untwisted roving cloth is a commonly used reinforcement material for domestic FRP fishing boats. Similar to fiberglass axial cloth, it is also a thicker gauze made of untwisted roving composed of multiple strands of fine yarn in different weaving methods in the warp and weft directions. It has strong impact resistance, thicker layers, and is more difficult to form on complex surfaces. The interlayer adhesion is weaker and the strength is poor in the direction of ±45°. In addition, due to the cross-weaving of roving, it will produce wavy fluctuations, the extension is larger after being stressed, and the proportion of resin contained is also higher, so its strength will decrease with the increase of fluctuations. It is now often replaced by fiberglass axial cloth.

fiberglass roving cloth is mainly used in the hand lay-up process in FRP production.
