How long is the longest all-fiberglass onshore wind turbine blade?
On April 28, 2024, the B1080A blade independently developed by Dongfang Wind Power and manufactured by Dongfang Tianjin Blade successfully passed the static test verification in Sheyang, Jiangsu. The blade is 108m long and is currently the longest all-fiberglass onshore wind turbine blade verified by Dongfang Wind Power through static tests.
The blades are equipped with onshore wind turbines with a power level of 6-10MW, and the wind rotor sweep area is as high as 38,000 square meters, which is about the size of 90 standard basketball courts.
The blade adopts a blunt trailing edge airfoil, which solves the problem of required stiffness of the blade through shape design and breaks through the stiffness design problem of large flexible blades. fiberglass pultruded boards are used as the main beam and trailing edge beam to ensure the stiffness and strength of large-size blades. The optimal weight can be achieved under the premise of achieving the optimal weight; the pultruded plate molding adopts integrated infusion process technology, which overcomes the problem of integrating the main beam and the shell of the large-thickness fiberglass pultruded plate with infusion, and greatly improves the economy of large onshore blades.
At present, the measured values of the B1080A blade are in good agreement with the design values and meet the specification requirements. Its material, structure and process quality control capabilities have been effectively verified. The development of this blade shape will further enhance Dongfang Wind Power's core competitiveness in the wind power market and effectively promote the industrial application of long-flexible blades and large-megawatt units.
